If anything has decreased my work time on a site, it has been the 960 grid system. This lovely CSS grid system comes into 2 flavors. 16 grid and 12 grid styles. You will find a few websites in my Portfolio that uses the grid structure. Not only do I not have to worry about size dimensions of the content or sidebar, I don’t have to worry about the floats either. The floats are already taken care for me. In working on some projects, I have even completely re-worked some previous sites of mine and converted them to 960.gs or some other templates I have come in contact with that needed to be re-worked. While going through some redesigning of my own, I feel to look inside the designs of others’ sites to figure out what I really need to do with the redesign of … City of Duluth’s site.
I was hired by the City of Duluth back in 2003, at that time I knew basic HTML and the ability to make sites in Frontpage. It was only after managing close to 200 pages of static HTML that I wanted to learn more to help manage my job and the site better.
